Stockmann Group's revenue in August 2012

The Stockmann Group’s revenue in August was up 4.8 per cent to EUR 164.0 million.

The Department Store Division’s revenue was up 2.9 per cent. Revenue was up 1.1 per cent in Finland and 7.2 per cent in international operations. The growth was lead by the department stores in St Petersburg and Ekaterinburg. The euro-denominated revenue in Russia increased by 13.7 per cent in the department stores and by 6.9 per cent in total, when including the Bestseller franchising stores which will be closed down by the end of 2012.

The Fashion Chain Division’s revenue grew by 7.4 percent; up 5.6 per cent in Finland and 7.9 per cent in international operations. Lindex’s euro-denominated revenue was up 8.9 per cent due to the strengthened Swedish krona and Norwegian krone. In local currencies revenue was on a par with the previous year. Revenue was down in Sweden and particularly in Norway, but continued to grow strongly in all other countries. Seppälä’s revenue was up 1.1 per cent due to good sales in Finland and the Baltic countries but weaker development in Russia.
