40,000 STOCKMANN SERIES A SHARES CONVERTED TO SERIES B SHARES

The Board of Directors of Stockmann plc has in its meeting on May 20, 2003, approved the request of a shareholder to convert 40,000 Series A shares to Series B shares in accordance with Article 3 in the Articles of Association of Stockmann plc. The conversions of shares were registered on June 6, 2003. The converted shares will be listed on the Helsinki Exchanges together with the old shares on June 16, 2003.
