In October, the Stockmann Group's sales were up 9 per cent and amounted to
EUR 176 million. The best percentage increase in sales was reported by
Seppälä whose sales were up 15 per cent. Sales by the Department Store
Division were up 10 per cent while sales by Hobby Hall were up 2 per cent.
Sales by Seppälä grew by 4 per cent in Finland and by 47 per cent abroad.
The strong growth abroad was contributed by the expansion of the network
of stores especially in Russia.
Sales by the Department Store Division grew by 7 per cent in Finland and
by 17 per cent abroad. The Crazy Days Campaign once again set a new sales
record in all market areas. Sales abroad were further boosted by the new
department store that was opened in Moscow in February and the expansion
of the Bestseller chain in Russia.
Hobby Hall's sales were down 4 per cent in Finland and up 39 per cent
abroad due to the favourable sales trend in the Baltic countries.
