Stockmann doubles its online store selection – over 110,000 products now available
Stockmann plc, Press release 8.11.2018
Stockmann has doubled its online store selection by including almost all the products available at its Helsinki department store in its online store. Now, stockmann.com offers a varied and high-quality fashion, beauty and home selection made up of over 110,000 products.
Stockmann’s online store has grown rapidly during the autumn: in the summer 50,000 products were on sale in stockmann.com and this number has now doubled. The considerably larger product selection is now available for clientele throughout Finland.
Digital acceleration making rapid progress
Customers were already able to view the availability of many of the products on sale at the Helsinki department store in the online store. After the Crazy Days campaign in October, Stockmann piloted the online sale of products delivered from the Helsinki department store using children’s fashion products. The pilot was successful, so practically the entire selection of the Helsinki department store is now available in the online store.
“It is great that we can now offer our customers an even better service also online. Now we are collecting and delivering products ordered by customers from our Helsinki department store as well as our distribution centre. We carried out this project, which closely combines our various operations in an agile way, by using and further developing existing tools,” says Jari Grönmark, Development Manager, Stockmann.
The availability of products has significantly improved thanks to the department store deliveries, and over 110,000 products are now on sale in the online store.
“Doubling our online store selection is an important aspect of the digital acceleration launched at the beginning of the year. The progress has been rapid as we have almost quadrupled the selection of stockmann.com compared with last year. In addition to increasing the product selection we have launched new services to make online shopping easier, such as the Click & Collect point that is open until midnight at the Helsinki department store,” says Anna Salmi, who is in charge of marketing and digitalisation at Stockmann.
Customers can collect products ordered in the online store from the Click & Collect point at the Helsinki department store, at a time that suits them. Stockmann has also made online shopping easier by speeding up order delivery times. Orders are now delivered within 1-3 working days. The Reserve and collect service allows customers to reserve products at all department stores through the online store.
New marketplace to expand its product selection again next spring
Stockmann.com’s selection will be complemented with its partners’ products in spring 2019 when Stockmann launches the first marketplace focusing on fashion, beauty and home design products. The marketplace pilot has already been launched with Stockmann’s first partner, XS Lelut, which reintroduced toys to customers of the Stockmann online store in September.
