In November, the Stockmann Group's sales were up 9 per cent and amounted
to EUR 142 million.
The best percentage increase in sales was again reported by Seppälä whose
sales were up 18 per cent. The division's sales were up 7 per cent in
Finland and 55 per cent abroad. The strong growth in sales abroad was
contributed by the good growth in like-for-like sales in all market areas
and expansion of the network of stores especially in Russia.
Sales by the Department Store Division were up 11 per cent. Sales were up
4 per cent in Finland and 33 per cent abroad. Sales abroad increased
strongly in all market areas, and in Russia the growth in sales was backed
up by the new department store that was opened in Moscow in February and
the expansion of the Bestseller chain.
Hobby Hall's sales in November were 7 per cent down on the figure in
November 2006. Sales were down 8 per cent in Finland and 1 per cent
abroad. November is Hobby Hall's most important sales month, and due to
the change in recording the sales brought by the introduction of the ERP
system in spring, part of the sales will be recorded later than last year,
i.e. in December.
